Support Local - Without Spending a Dime

If Covid-19 has impacted your wallet, you are not alone. The thing is, local businesses need our help more than ever to stay afloat. The good news is you can still help your favorite local business without spending a dime. All you’ll need to do is spend 10 seconds showing some aloha.

If you take the four actions below you will be able to improve local business’ engagement and visibility on other Instagram users' feeds.

Rather than scrolling and simply double tapping, please take an extra 10 seconds to do this on the posts of local businesses. 

1. Save their post - Saving their Instagram post can help save their business! Instagram’s algorithm favors saves. The more a post is saved, the more it will show up in other’s feeds. So save their posts and help save their business!

You can save their post by clicking on the icon that looks like a flag hanging. It’s located on the right side under a post.

2. Share their post - Hit that airplane icon and share the post to your IG stories! Make sure you tag their business so they can see your support. 

Go the extra mile and select the  “Support Local” sticker. 

When you share your fave local business on your IG stories you are recommending them to your friends and helping them reach more potential customers and followers.

3. Comment on their post- Love their product? Comment on their post! When you comment you show Instagram that you care about this particular business’s content. Drop emojis and words in the comments.

4. Like thier post - Finally, double tap that post and show it some love. 

Of course, if you have the budget, go out there and shop at local businesses to support them. 

When you do go, make sure you take pics and share your experience on your social media accounts and tag them!
